The MDBA Youth Blockchain Hackathon is an online event running from February 27 to November 1, 2026, organized by the Maryland Blockchain Association and the Blockchain Legal Institute. It is designed specifically for high school students in grades 10 through 12, who must participate with an adult sponsor. The hackathon aims to build real-world skills across blockchain, education, gaming, AI, LegalTech, and sustainable development. Participants work on deployable prototypes addressing societal challenges such as anti-corruption and social good. Mentorship from industry professionals and blockchain protocols supports students in developing their projects. The prize pool is currently set at $50,000, though the final amount may change.
